Remember, end users are not the only people who have a stake.
While the focus is often utmost on users, it is important to remember that there are so many others and roles that are involved in the lifecycle of a software application and from its initiation to retirement.
From sponsors, stakeholders, operators, support team members and more, so many others and roles could be listed, just to name a few, whose life and work could be impacted by the product.
Dr. Guy Boy, the visionary behind Human Centered Design and our mentor proposes these questions that might be of help.
- THE PEOPLE – Do you know all the people internal and external who interact with your organizations team, products and services – how they do it and why?
- THE PROBLEM – Do you understand the needs of the people for whom you are digitalizing or have created the digital product?
- THE ENVIRONMENT OR THE SYSTEM – Do you understand when and how these people have been and will interact with the product or service?
- THE DESIGN – Are the organizational teams aware and aligned on what the high priorities for which experiences and features needs to be designed or being implemented as a part of this strategy?
